Book Club
APA Transportation Planning Division Book Club
The Transportation Planning Division’s Book Club brings together planners—and future planners—from across the country to talk about books that deepen our understanding of transportation planning, policy, and practice.
How It Works
We meet monthly on Zoom for lively, informal discussions. There’s no cost and no commitment—you can join for one meeting or come every month. Everyone is welcome!
Once your request is approved, you’ll have access to our Bookclubs.com page with information about upcoming and past meetings, online discussions, and book suggestions. You can even volunteer to moderate one of our discussions.
Past Guest Authors
We’ve been very fortunate to host some amazing authors who have joined us to discuss their work, including:
- Steven Higashide, author of Better Buses, Better Cities. He is Director of the Clean Transportation Program at the Union of Concerned Scientists.
- Jeff Speck, author of Walkable City. He is the Director of Design at the National Endowment for the Arts.
- Jarrett Walker, author of Human Transit. He is a consulting transit planner helping cities around the world.
- Anna Zivarts, author of When Driving Is Not an Option. She is the lead organizer of the Nondrivers Alliance.
